We do all that we can to care for and support our nurses so that they are able to do their job – caring for our patients – to the best of their ability. We have dedicated Clinical Matrons on every ward who spend 80% of their time delivering hands-on care, so you will always be learning from people with years of experience. Our Ward Sisters are trained to support the nurses on their teams with their personal development, such as identifying training opportunities that may further their careers. We also offer shorter shifts and flexible hours where required to help our nurses juggle the vitally important home/life balance.

We are rated outstanding for the way we care by the CQC for our end of life care.

We have introduced a dedicated Clinical Matron on every ward who spends 80% of their time at the bedside caring for patients. This means that you can learn from our most experienced nurses. We know that outstanding staff need quality training and development opportunities to help you reach your full potential. Our sisters on every ward are trained to support you in your personal development.

Shorter shifts and flexible hours mean a better balance of work and home life.

And if you still are not sure… our staff park for free at our hospitals and benefit from subsidised on-site children’s nurseries. Our staff are offered a range of subsidised exercise classes and pamper treatments, benefit from subsidised on site restaurants and get above basic annual, maternity, paternity and adoption leave.

Hear what some of our team have to say…

“My manager is very proactive with our training and encourages our development and learning.”
“I love talking to patients, I could talk for days – I always get called a chatter box! When a patient is worried or anxious, I try to help and calm them down by talking to them. I’m currently training someone, which I never thought I would do. I love it because it means my team trust me to share my wisdom with someone new!”
“I have been here for twelve years and I particularly like the supportive environment - there is always someone to ask and someone to talk to.”
“I was attracted to the area because of what I heard about the surroundings and how close to London you are. I took the opportunity to move away from home, broaden my horizons and progress my career.”
“The hospital accommodation at Basingstoke is a couple of minutes walk from the hospital. Things like broadband, electricity and water are all included in the rent and there is a laundry – you don’t have to worry about anything and the staff are really helpful.”
“We’ve got a good reputation, we give good quality care and we work as a team.”
“We are dynamic and we want to lead from the front. You learn a lot when you are here. It’s first class.”
