Preparation for your Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) exam will be through a comprehensive, face-to-face training programme undertaken by the Clinical Skills Team who are based in Basingstoke.
The cost of the 3-week training programme, OSCE exam and transport to and from the test centre are included in your relocation package.
Passing your OSCE gives you entry to the Nursing & Midwifery Council’s (NMC) professional register. On successful completion of your OSCE, the NMC will review your application and, when approved, issue your NMC PIN.
For further information for internationally trained applicants as well as applying for health and social care jobs in the UK from abroad, visit the NMC website.
The Preceptorship programme is designed to provide a supported transitionary period to develop your confidence and competence in practice in the UK, whilst continuing with professional development.
The programme is a tripartite relationship between your clinical team, the professional development team and the wider educational teams. This programme complies with Health Education England preceptorship standards and reflects the NMC Principles for Preceptorship whilst supporting the development of your portfolio towards NMC revalidation.
The programme is designed to be a minimum of 12 months’ development and incorporates a blended approach to learning. It will enable you to be integrated into your place of work, supported by your Line Manager and a Preceptor (an experienced member of the clinical team) who will act as a professional role model and guide you through your professional development.
